Random December

A photo dump -all in the name of catching up.

This was the gift that Jonas received at the Oly swim team white elephant party.  I wish I'd taken a photo of the entire frame, because it is just as hideous as the lovely picture of Nicholas Cage.  "Nick" has been moving randomly from room to room because he's so frightening, it's fun to startle people.  Right now he is gracing the windowsill above the kitchen sink.  Makes doing dishes a delight.
Jonas was absolutely appalled that Robbie (or more importantly, Rob) willingly gave up one of his skeletons that we so carefully picked out for him for his birthday.  We were all hurt by the betrayal.  But now, Trevor - or whichever this skeleton is - is the Olympus Aquatics mascot.  He hangs out at the pool dressed in his swimming garb.  I've actually seen him being used to show proper form at swim team.
The Volvo gave up the ghost - but just for a few days.  It was towed, fixed and returned to us as good as, well as good as before.  The most disturbing thing about this was how long Shawn sat by the side of the road waiting for help.  I came to his rescue but the 2 of us couldn't move the car alone and people just kept driving by.  It was forever before someone stopped to help us.  Yes, Merry Christmas to all of you, too!
Amelia was so excited to get her new hearing aids.  SInce she doesn't love wearing them, we thought it was time to change to a lower profile set.  Let's hope this helps.
See, they just disappear into her ears.
A few of the places we have found Fred...
I guess he was missing the cold of the North Pole.  Good thing the fridge was available.

And hanging out with a few of his lady friends.
Zip-lining down some tinsel.  Those elves are quite adventurous apparently.
Good thing he showed up in my stocking before Christmas, otherwise where would Santa have put my stuff?

No one got this for Christmas, but Peter would have loved to.  He asks to look at the picture all the time.  Sometimes I worry a little about how much he loves Darth Vader.
And a few shots of my own little elves - and reindeer.
There are some fantastic photo bombs in these pictures...

Photobomber.

Okay, now one alone.
And there he is again.

Our tree was so sad this year.  It sat for forever just waiting for lights.  Finally, Shawn got those on, but that was all the decorating we did.  None of our ornaments made it out of the boxes and onto the tree  this year.  We were just way too busy.
Thank goodness Fred at least hung candy canes on it one night.  It looked slightly more festive.

Samantha and Jonas had performances at the school before winter break.  I think we went to something every Wednesday for 3 weeks.  There was the orchestra concert for Jonas, the band concert for both of them, and a dance performance for Samantha.  (That's the only one I have pictures of.)

And poor Megan had to say good bye to her very good friend, Preslee who was moving to Heber.  She has been so sad and worried about who she will play with - especially since her cousin, Ainsley is leaving in just a few weeks, too.  These girls have had so much fun together.
Phew!  Now let's see what else December has in store for us.
