Meanwhile...

I can't believe it, but Jonas is old enough to go to scout camp. Unfortunately, due to a schedule change, scout camp was the same week as our family vacation to Bear Lake. Jonas was pretty sad to miss it, but still had a pretty good experience at Camp Steiner. (Seriously? When did I get old enough to have a kid going to scout camp?)

Here's the troop before heading out. Since Jonas is still 11, Shawn "got" to go with him for part of the time.

Shawn and Jonas both passed off their swim stuff even though the water was only about 38 degrees. (It still had ice just a week before they got there!)

He came away with merit badges for rifle shooting, environmental science, first aid, Indian lore and that's all I can think of. Anyway, he learned a lot of good stuff. I'm sure it will be an experience he will always remember, and I'm proud of him for still making the choice to go even though he had to miss a vacation with the family.
