On Christmas Eve, sunrise was at 7:47 am, while sunset was at 5:04 pm. Today, February 1st, sunrise was at 7:34 and sunset will be at 5:44 pm. That's a whole 53 minutes of extra daylight! And it's only going to get better! A month from now, the day will be a full 72 minutes longer. I can practically see summer on the horizon. (If I squint really, really hard and use a lot of imagination.)
