We celebrated a few days early because Cathy and Doug were headed to Ivins for Christmas. No one was too upset to start the celebrating early. We had our traditional aebelskivers and Cathy had helpers, as usual.
Those of us who weren't helping with the cooking were enjoying hot chocolate.
...or not. (Seriously could this kid ever just let us take a picture?)
Once we were full of good food, the kids were anxious to move on to opening gifts.
All eyes are on the gift opener. Peter had a comfy seat on Doug's lap.
Samantha practicing her bored teenager look.
As I've mentioned before, there is always a theme with our Christmas gifts from Cathy and Doug, and this year, each of us got our own snow globe.
Christmas is so fun with a 4 year old! The wonder is intoxicating.
It's not too bad with a 15 year old, either.
In addition to our individual snow globes, we also got books.
Once the books were opened, the kids were lost to us. I love that my kids love to read - but occasionally, it does hinder conversation a bit.
A very merry early Christmas Eve celebration for all of us.
