We went directly form the ski slopes to my Aunt Barb's house for the Backman family Christmas party. We were late and missed dinner, but made it back in time for the program.
Megan was the star. (As in, the star shining overhead, not the star of the show.) Amelia was a shepherd and Samantha was a wiseman. Jonas was relieved to not have to play a part this year, (he's thought he was far too old for that for a few years now.) And I have no idea where Peter was during this whole thing.
Gifts were handed out and we visited for a little bit, but then it was time to take our tired children home and get ready for Santa to come.
At home, everyone unwrapped their Christmas Eve pajamas and we tried to take a nice picture. "Tried" being the operative word here. Honestly, should it be this hard to get everyone to hold still, look at the camera and smile? It shouldn't be, but apparently, it is.
First, someone is crying, and we can't pry the others from their books. (Oh wait, and we're still missing one.)
So close! All are present and accounted for AND smiling, but only 4 out of 5 are actually looking at the camera.
One more try - with the same results. Only it's #5 instead of #1 that is looking away. Oh for the love.
And that's when we all gave up. Things just fell apart from there.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
