Duffy has been waiting and waiting and waiting to lose her first tooth. She was so excited when we went to the dentist a couple months ago and was told that her tooth was feeling a little loose. She's watched as all of her little first grade friends have lost multiple teeth while she just hangs on to hers. (That's just the norm around here.) Finally, finally, it got super wiggly and the whole time we were in Boise she was playing with it, so excited. But, she didn't want to lose it in Boise in case the tooth fairy couldn't find her.
Within an hour or so of getting home, though, she asked Shawn to see if it was ready to come out. It was. He barely touched it and it fell right out.
This is one happy girl to have finally lost her first tooth - 11 days before her 7th birthday!
I love the gap toothed smiles, but it's also the beginning of the end of the sweet little kid smiles. After this, we move on to teeth that are too big and their whole look just changes. There's no going back now.
