Megan has been asking for quite some time to cut her hair and donate it. She certainly has enough of it to share. I have been kind of hesitant just because she's had such long hair forever and because her hair is so thick and unruly even when it's long, that I'm a little worried about what it will do when it is short. But lately, no matter what sort of fancy braids and hairdo's I put her hair in in the morning, she comes home with it undone and wild, hanging all over the place. Plus, with summer coming, with the ins and outs of the pool, the thought of keeping all that hair combed and tamed doesn't hold much appeal, so I agreed she could cut it. She really wanted to do it before the last day of school. Clearly, since that is tomorrow, we barely fit it in.
Here are the befores:
And here she is after. She was so excited, she could barely contain herself. She was bouncing up and down with this huge grin on her face the whole time we were waiting for Peter's haircut.
She had about 10 inches cut off. (I had to make sure we could put it in a ponytail for the rest of the summer if needed.)
The only problem now is that she and Amelia have the same hairstyle. Some people already have a hard time telling the two of them apart, and this doesn't help. Although, Amelia says she's growing her bangs out, so we'll see if that fixes things for us.
Peter got a pretty big hair cut, too. Not quite what I asked for, but it will work. Just that much longer before he has to go in again, I guess.

He looks a little too grown up for my liking, but he is definitely ready for summer.
