This stop was on the agenda from the get go. Shawn and I are Buddy Holly fans and definitely wanted to stop off at the museum to check it out. The kids were kind enough to go along with us.
Now, we expected to see Buddy Holly stuff, obviously, but we didn't expect to find Grandpa Quincy on the posters in the lobby!
So, that was pretty cool.
We knew he had been very involved in the Winter Dance Party Re-enactment Tour. Shawn and I had even gone, but we didn't know we would find his picture in the Buddy Holly Museum.
Here's a closer view. That's him standing in the back right corner.
Of course, we had to see the glasses.
Shawn was happy to pose with Buddy in his matching glasses. (Yes, those are Shawn's real glasses - obtained some time before this trip was planned.)
Shawn's just trying to channel a little Buddy Holly musical mojo.
Next on the docket when we get home is to make sure the kids watch The Buddy Holly story.
