The Final Day of Our Adventure in Which We See Four Corners, Monument Valley And A Forrest Gump Movie Spot

We split the drive home into a couple of days which made it a little easier.  We left Fort worth where it was nice and toasty warm and stopped in Amarillo for the night.  The kids went into the hotel shoeless and in shorts and t-shirts.  We woke up to snow.  We had to go out to the car and go digging through bags just to get everyone dressed appropriately to get back to the car in the morning.
A stop at 4 Corners was part of the itinerary as well since it wasn't too far out of the way.
It was really cold, though.

Amelia taking a seat in 4 states at once.
The Utah State Seal.
Samantha doing the splits in 4 states at once.
All the kids in separate states with Peter keeping them all connected.

Kissing in 4 states at once.  That was a first.

After Four Corners, we took another little detour to Monument Valley because it was there and we thought we should see it.

Mostly we have lots and lots of pictures of rocks from this detour.  Really big Rocks.  We like rocks.  Just look at our front yard.
But I think these rocks are pretty spectacular.

Woody liked the views, too.
This right here is where Forrest Gump stopped running in the movie.  It was a pretty important highlight for us to stop there, too.  (Note: Make sure kids watch Forrest Gump.)

Despite our reservations about driving all the way to Texas and back with the whole family, I think we had a fantastic spring break.  We saw cousins, watched some good water polo and saw all sorts of cool things along the way.  I'd even do it again.
