As usual, the kids were so excited when the bounce house arrived in the morning. This one had a hook-up for a hose making it a water slide - which turned out to be a big success and didn't leave a huge mud hole like I expected it would.
A little pre-party yard view.
Since the 4th of July was so close, Shawn decided to start with a bike parade for the kids in the neighborhood. Chad Dunford led the way with his (mom's) '56 thunderbird. And the kids were all lined up with bikes decorated and ready to go (except for the Stringham children whose parents were apparently too busy getting ready for a party to remember to get bike decorations for their own parade.)
If you look closely, you can see a horse and carriage at the back of the line, as well. That belongs to one of our neighbors. I'm telling you, we live in a great neighborhood.
And here are a couple of pictures of poor, sweaty, little Peter who ran his little legs as fast as he could to try to keep up with the parade. (His legs aren't quite long enough to pedal on the bike so he still has to run it Flintstone style.) These pictures are post-parade, post-running around and obviously, post-popsicle and otter pop eating. He was so sticky and covered with dirt that he got a bath at 10 o'clock at night.
And that's it for party photos. Nothing of our guests or food, etc. But still, fun was had by all.
