We started our celebrating by attending the annual 4th of July picnic in Emigration Canyon at the Smolka's house. (Always a favorite. We're really sad that they are selling the house. My kids are so going to miss the zip line, the huge sandbox, the swing set, and all the grass.)
The cousins picture - with the happy addition of Matej, Maya and Jack! It was so fun to have them there. And we were lucky enough to have Matt and Anne in town too, so we also had Charlie, Clara and Colin. Definitely missing Robbie, Joey, Ellie and Ainsley. We need those bigger kids to fill in so that Jonas doesn't tower over everyone quite so much. My kids are definitely counting down the days until those Marsh cousins are back from Europe.
So, what are the chances that we can get a photo with everyone looking at the camera at the same time? I'd say about zero.
Yep, definitely zero.
Ah well, you can't say we didn't try. Perhaps this is a better view?
And then it was announced that it was time to attack Jonas. Picture time is over. There's just no recovering from that.
After a little time at home, we went to the Graham's house for a barbecue and then walked to the Holladay City Amphitheater with the YSA's to enjoy a Peter Breinholt Concert.
We were parked right up front. Not bad.
Finished off the night with fireworks,
and then another stop at the Graham's for some late night stingpong before finally heading home with exhausted but happy kids.
