It has been a yearly tradition to attend the Peter Breinholt concert at the Sandy amphitheater in July. But this spring when I got the schedule of events, Peter wasn't on it. However, I did see that The Piano Guys were on the list, and since my kids (and Shawn and I) have spent plenty of time on-line watching all of their videos and loving them, this seemed like a good alternate.
We always try to get there early and stake out our favorite place on the lawn where we sit and enjoy our picnic dinner.
Jonas showing his happy face - as usual.
Peter with his cousin Joey. He thinks Joey is the best. He often asks if me if Joey can play with him.
Trying -and failing- to get the kids lined up on the wall for the annual kids picture.
OK, we'll start with just the boys.
And now all the kids - all looking at Michelle's camera. (Of course, she remembered to bring her camera. As usual this summer, I forgot and all I have is Shawn's phone.)
Only 9 kids this year since we are missing any Boydens or Dunfords or any other families that have been known to meet up with us at the concert in the past.
Joey did a good job of keeping Peter entertained while we waited for the concert to start. It was a lot of fun and my kids loved it. Not quite the same crowd as the Peter Breinholt concert, which meant no getting up and dancing around for the kids, but enjoyable nonetheless. They were mesmerized anytime there were any videos showing - once it got a little darker.
Shawn bought a CD while we were there and we've been listening to it non-stop. It was also fun to see the video they had just filmed on the stage posted on their website the very next day.
The summer concert is definitely a favorite summer tradition.
