The only problem with The Piano Guys concert was that it was scheduled the same day that we were supposed to leave for Bear Lake. So, we just packed up the car before going to the concert and decided to leave from there. Yeah, it was really late by the time we got there, (OK, actually really early - about 2 am), but we didn't want to give up either the concert or the trip to Bear Lake.
We spent Sunday sleeping in and just totally relaxing. (That was desperately needed.) It was so nice to have a day with nothing on it. I don't think we've had one yet this summer.
Once Monday hit, though, it was time to play. We spent some time on the tennis courts and some time at the playground and sometime at the pool(s). There was some frisbee and paddle ball on the grass at some point, too. But the most time was probably spent at the beach and in the lake.
(Once again, forgot the camera and just had Shawn's phone. Seems to be the theme this summer.)
The kids spent hours building their island.
And some time warming up between lake excursions.
We didn't bring the boat since we only had one day to play, so we decided to rent a paddle board. it was a huge hit with all of the kids. (Shawn and I already knew we loved it.)
I think everybody took a turn - except for Peter who changed his mind as we were wading out to put him on it.
It's amazing how long you can be entertained with a little sand and a little water.
Happy kids showing off their finished product.
On our way to the pool to warm up in the hot tub and do some tricks off the diving board.
It was hard to pack up and leave that night. A short weekend wasn't nearly enough time. But a stop at La Beau's and the promise that we'll be back in a month lessened the blow just a little bit.
