Also, that big tree in the back was amazing. It was constantly changing colors and stripes. I think every inch of it was covered with lights.
Peter was mesmerized.
We also made a little stop at the planetarium. My kids could spend hours in the gift shop and wandering around looking at all of the cool displays. (Our original plan was to see Santa vs. The Snowman on the Imax, but it wasn't showing this year, much to everyone's disappointment.)Eventually, we pulled them all away from the planetarium (that was quite a feat) and headed over to Temple Square. The lights were beautiful, as always, but I would have preferred to be viewing them with a couple hundred thousand fewer people around. (I know, ending up there on a Saturday night after dinner time wasn't our best choice but we had limited time to work with, and that's how it worked out.)
The kids were so excited to ride Trax (even if it was only for a couple of blocks.) The evening ended with a few being a little cold and one in tears - but that's to be expected. All in all, everyone held up pretty well.
I feel like we've covered that one for this year. We don't necessarily need a repeat performance. I think we'll just enjoy the view from my parent's condo next time we feel like going to see the lights.
