Time for the semiannual post of beignets. Seriously, this is one tradition that would absolutely devastate my kids if we were to give it up. They look forward to this, well, for a full 6 months.
It requires full family participation - and sometimes, apparently, roller blades.
They were delicious as always. Amelia ate so many that she made herself feel sick. Shawn told her that if she threw up, we would never have beignets again. (We're really compassionate like that.) She had to go outside for some fresh air and lay down for a while, but fortunately for all of us, she did not throw up, and we will be allowed to have beignets again. Phew. Just what I need more of in my life, Sugar covered fried foods!
