Fairy Flood

We had a fantastic rain storm last night.  The kind that woke me up because the wind was blowing so hard, the rain was pounding so hard, and the thunder and lightning was so intense.  Loved it.  (Well, except for the part where the rain started leaking into the house in a couple of different spots.  That will have to be remedied soon.)
I love summer rain storms.  And it was raining so hard, that I went outside to watch it.  (And check for potential flooding because of some faulty rain gutters.)  Shawn took these photos of Duffy's fairy garden.
At this point, the flood waters were actually receding since water had been pouring into the windows.  Duffy's poor little fairy is floating face down in the water there.  Not to worry, though.  We called in the Fairy FEMA and they made a rescue.  She was revived and is safe and sound now.

A pretty good model for what happens in a real flood since you can see by the level of the flood "debris" - aka pine needles and such, exactly how high the water was on the house.
Our flower pots was totally destroyed as well.  Pretty much all of the plants were uprooted because it was just overflowing with water.

We had to send in help for Grandpa Gnome and little piggy here as well, because they were just bobbing around in the water.  Fairy FEMA pulled them out before they were washed over board.  It was touch and go there for a little bit, but all fairy garden residents are accounted for and safely back in place.
Duffy was just glad that everything was still there.  After a little patio repair, and house clean up, everything will be good as new.  (It was a fantastic show either way.)
