Shawn and his Dad met the rest of us at the airport on Monday morning. (Our trip was quite a bit faster and) Peter was great on the airplane. In fact he was fascinated by it. Jonas and Samantha did alright, too. Once we were all together again, we decided to get some lunch, (some of us were starving) and then head to a nearby park. First, a picture of all the kids on Grandpa Quincy's and Fran's front porch.
Of course, Woody came along everywhere we went. He joined us for lunch.
We went to Oz park next. (Mr. Baum, author of The Wizard of Oz, lived in this neighborhood. Plus, Jonas just wrapped up the junior high play a few weeks ago which was The Wizard of Oz. Consequently, much of our time in the car was spent with everyone singing songs from the play.)
A bunch of munchkins at Oz Park. First stop, of course, was to see Dorothy.
Woody really liked her ruby slippers.
And he hung out for a bit with the Scarecrow.
He had a bit of a rough time with the Tin Man.
But clearly wasn't bothered by the Cowardly Lion at all.
Duffy was really excited to find her name on a sign at the park.
I think everyone enjoyed just strolling around and not being confined in a car or airplane seat.
A close up on Toto and the ruby slippers.
And no trip to Oz park would be complete without a little walk on the yellow brick road.
And the best part about Oz Park, was the playground.
Woody kept an eye on everyone.
And even the big kids managed to stay entertained.
My guess is, even if we didn't go and see anything else, playing at a park everyday would have kept everyone pretty happy.
